La publicación muestra que los flujos que se generan en estos sistemas cambian drásticamente al variar el espesor del contenedor: mientras que en contenedores mas anchos el flujo se desordena a medida que avanza el tiempo, al reducir la altura el flujo cambia y se ordena en forma espontánea, generando estructuras cada vez mas grandes y auto-organizadas.</p>

Si pensamos cada secuencia posible de pulsos como un punto en un espacio abstracto, entonces el conjunto de secuencias óptimas define una superficie en ese espacio.
