*Concentration inequalities for powers of Erdős–Rényi adjacency matrices*

*Resumen: *We study concentration inequalities for powers of Erdős-Renyi
graph adjacency matrices. We show that
$$\| A^s - \mathbb{E}[A^s] \| \le C (2s)^α (np)^{s - 1/2}$$
for some some $α<1$ and powers $s = o(log(log(n))$, where $p \gg
\frac{(log(n)s)^{4}}{n}$. This extends previous results in the literature
for $s=1$ to our setting and shows that dependence on $s$ is lower than the
trivial approach would suggest. We discuss some generalizations and
applications.
This is an ongoing collaboration with Daniela Cuesta (LAAS-CNRS) and Lucas
Andisco.
